Arts & Heritage for All
This two year project in our community brought together 12 diverse organizations for the collaborative development and implementation of an arts and heritage-based program working with excluded children and youth. CAHEP partnered with 6 local organizations each year. Each organization received a total of 66 hours in arts and heritage programming.
The CAHEP Coordinator and the CAHEP Project Manager and Coordinators within each of the partner organizations met with the children and youth to ensure that they chose which artists, heritage programmers and which specific projects they would like to work on. This ensured that the creative voices of the children and youth were front and center during the actual creative process and that they were engaged in a multitude of projects that could best serve their needs and creative energy.
The Arts & Heritage for All program aimed to:
- Make arts and heritage programming available and accessible to all children and youth in our community
- Work with children and youth through arts and heritage to build teamwork, leadership, creative and critical thinking skills
