TBCDSB Aboriginal Arts Program
Year four of the Aboriginal Arts and Heritage Program is taking place in the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board for the 2011-2012 school year with grades 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 classes. In partnership with local artist and heritage programmers, arts educators, Thunder Bay Aboriginal Arts & Heritage Group and Community Arts & Heritage Education Project (CAHEP), the program is tailored to the specific needs of each participating elementary school. The program has been developed in consultation with elders, Aboriginal artists and heritage programmers and the Thunder Bay Aboriginal Arts & Heritage Group.
CAHEP provides an
excellent program through local Aboriginal artist and heritage programmers who
have:

Experience in classroom/school program delivery
· Strong skills in First Nations dance, drumming, crafts, regalia, traditional teachings, visual art, storytelling, music, contemporary work
